Software

At the core of assist:events is Microsoft's SQL Server 2000, an extremely powerful database server. Using a database server over something such as Microsoft Access enables us to carry out high-speed transactions and allows thousands of concurrent user connections. Something that file based databases such as Microsoft Access just cannot compete with.

The core application is written using Microsoft .NET framework. The 'front end' uses Javascript, CSS and full XHTML 1.1 compliancy to optimise the user experience in browsers supporting these technologies. Plain text alternatives complying with W3C AAA accessibility guidelines are automatically activated for other browsers and assertive technology such as screen readers.

Hardware

assist:events is hosted on the Breeze (IT) Limited web servers. These are maintained in a secure location with high bandwidth connections to the Internet and battery back up to achieve a resilient, high-speed service to our customers. All data is regularly backed up.

Integration

assist:events has been designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing website. We have the flexibility to change the graphics, fonts and colour scheme to fit the style of your own website and corporate identity.
