5.1. Installing Assist Notifier
To use Assist Notifier you first need to download and install it. A link to the installer is available when you login to the admin section of the directory.
5.1.1 Starting the Installer
Click on the link to download Assist Notifier. This will open a screen giving you some information about the installation.

To run Assist Notifier you need to have Microsoft .NET Framework. If you are not sure whether your computer already has .NET Framework, click on the link provided to check. If you do not have .NET Framework you can install it by clicking the second link.
Once you know that you have Microsoft .NET Framework you can start the installer. Click on the link provided to download and install Assist Notifier.
You will be given the option to 'Run' or 'Save' the installer. Click run to start the installation. Alternately you can save the installer to your computer or network and run it from there.
5.1.2. Installation
When you run the installer, the Select Installation Folder window will open.

This gives you a number of options regarding the installation:
- The folder Assist Notifier will be installed in is shown. Normally this folder is fine and you do not need to change it. If you do wish to change it, click on the 'Browse...' button to find the folder you would like to install to.
- You can check the amount of disk space you have available, and the amount of space Assist Notifier will take up, by clicking on 'Disk Cost...'.
- You can choose whether Assist Notifier will be available to just you, or all users that use your computer.
If you are happy with the options you have selected, click 'next' to start the installation. You may have to wait a few moments while the installation completes.
When the installation is complete Assist Notifier will start automatically and the login box will be shown. See logging in to Assist Notifier for information on how to login.
